Alexis DuFresne, a member of the asset-management search practice at Whitney Partners, said recent financial-market turbulence is creating hiring opportunities at firms targeting distressed investments. For example, she is seeing increased demand for restructuring specialists. “The general consensus on Wall Street is that we are in the late stages of the credit cycle,” DuFresne said. “We expect to see a significant uptick in defaults, particularly in the middle market, resulting in an increased need for restructuring professionals.”
